National Technology Cluster on Smart Living Technologies (SMILE)

Smart Living Technologies (SMILE) operates with a comprehensive vision, focusing on well-defined themes of innovative products and services to improve living environments and support the well-being of the people who inhabit them (Ambient Assisted Living, AAL). It focuses on independent living, active and healthy aging, home automation, and assistive/rehabilitative robotics, as well as the utilization and integration of sensors and smart systems.

National Interuniversity Consortium for Computer Science (CINI)

CINI is committed to providing added value to Italian universities, industry, and the Italian Public Administration, thanks to its role both at the national level (representing almost the entire Italian academic computing community) and international level (partners and international networks). The Consortium, which includes 49 public universities, a national laboratory for computer security, an artificial intelligence laboratory, and a national working group on high-performance computing, promotes and coordinates scientific research and technology transfer activities (both fundamental and applied) in various fields of Computer Science and Computer Engineering.

NODE Cooperative Society

Node is a cooperative specializing in digital services and is the System Company and Digital Innovation Hub of Confcooperative, which is the main national organization representing, assisting, and supporting the cooperative movement and social enterprises in Italy. Among its corporate bodies, it includes 9 structures at the national level, 13 at the regional level, 10 at the territorial level, and 2 additional structures. Its mission is to make the benefits of Information Technology accessible by providing software, hardware, and cloud solutions, as well as carrying out specific consulting activities for innovation and digital transition.

Technological District for Active & Assisted Living (INNOVAAL)

INNOVAAL brings together 31 members, including 20 Companies, 2 public Research Centers (e.g., CNR and Fondazione Bruno Kessler), 2 Universities, 1 Private Research Institute-IRCCS, 1 Technological Hub, and 4 service providers, including Social Housing. It is dedicated to scientific research and cultural promotion in the field of Ambient Assisted Living and Social Innovation, with the aim of strengthening the scientific and technological potential of Convergence Regions (Calabria, Campania, Puglia, Sicily, and Basilicata in a transitional support phase).

Technological District for Human Health and Biotechnologies (H-BIO)

The “H-BIO Puglia District S.c.r.l.” comprises 35 members, including 16 companies, Confindustria Puglia, 6 Consortia/Foundations, 4 Universities with a Teaching Hospital, CNR, 3 IRCCS, and 3 Competence Centers. It engages in various activities in the field of innovation and technology in the healthcare sector. Its activities focus on products for advanced diagnostics, care, rehabilitation, and bioinformatics. The company promotes the creation and development of innovative businesses, fosters specialized training, and participates in research and development programs.

Fondazione per la Ricerca Farmacologica Gianni Benzi Onlus

Fondazione Gianni Benzi Onlus is a not-for-profit scientific research organization that promotes innovation in the biological, medical, and pharmaceutical field, focusing on populations with unmet needs, such as rare diseases and pediatrics. The activities carried out span from ethics to regulatory science, research methodology to Information Technology, specialized training to patients’ engagement. The Foundation actively participates in and coordinates national and international research projects, and it is a member of several networks, including TEDDY, INHERENT, c4c, and EPTRI.

Sicily Micro and Nano Systems Technological District

The Sicily Micro and Nano Systems Technology District comprises 24 members, including 11 companies, 3 universities, 2 public research centers (including CNR), 5 private research institutes, and 3 industry associations. Its mission is to promote research, training, and innovation to foster sustainable economic growth in the Convergence Objective regions (Calabria, Campania, Puglia, Sicily, and Basilicata in a transitional support phase). It has high-level expertise, advanced research laboratories, and promotes open innovation and partnership creation to foster a virtuous cycle of innovation.

eHealthNet

eHealthNet s.c.ar.l. is a consortium company that brings together 25 partners, including 17 companies, 3 public research centers (including CNR), 3 private research centers, and 2 universities. The company boasts in-depth expertise in ICT technologies for healthcare. It focuses on the research and development of innovative methodologies, techniques, and software platforms to enhance diagnosis, therapy, and follow-up processes in digital healthcare. HealthNet aims to build an integrated network for research, experimentation, training, and dissemination in the public and private healthcare sectors, fostering the establishment of start-ups and spin-offs.

Technological Cluster for Interiors and Design (dID)

The dID (Interior and Design District) is an organization in the Tuscany region that focuses on innovation and technology for interiors. It brings together 900 Tuscan companies, 4 industry associations (including CNA and Confindustria), regional and non-regional industry districts and associations, regional training agencies, 3 universities (Florence, Pisa, and Siena), SSA, CNR, and 19 affiliated university laboratories. It offers advanced services to promote product, process, and market innovation, supporting companies in research and development. The dID encourages participation in funding projects and facilitates collaboration between companies and research institutions, promoting technology transfer.

Polytechnic University of Marche

The Polytechnic University of Marche boasts extensive experience in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), encompassing areas such as automation, digitalization, and smart homes. Thanks to this strong ICT expertise, the university is able to provide a wide range of knowledge and innovative solutions in these areas.

National Institute for Elderly Hospitalization and Care (IRCCS INRCA)

The IRCCS (Scientific Institute for Research, Hospitalization, and Healthcare) is a research institute specialized in the field of geriatrics and gerontology. Its main mission is to provide high-quality healthcare services and contribute to the production of scientific knowledge in the field. Its dedication in this field allows the IRCCS to project itself into the international research context and be a scientific reference point at the national level.

Regional Innovative Network ICT for Smart and Sustainable Living (ICT4SSL)

An innovative regional network that includes some of the most important entities in the Veneto region: the Municipality of Padua, over 20 companies, 3 universities (University of Padua, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, and University of Verona), and a research center (HIT – Human Inspired Technology Research Centre – Unipd). The aim of the network is to develop intelligent and sustainable environments capable of supporting individuals in their daily activities, especially those who are more vulnerable, such as the elderly and disabled. The network adopts a user-centered approach and utilizes enabling technologies to implement distributed, modular, intelligent, and interconnected technological systems.

Pitagora ICT Innovation Hub and Innovative Tertiary Sector

Polo Pitagora is a district that brings together 9 members, including companies and research organizations, and 90 small and medium-sized enterprises, spin-offs, and start-ups from the Calabria region, as well as national and international entities. Its mission is to foster a collaborative network among businesses, research, and institutions, supporting the design and implementation of high-tech research projects and promoting them both nationally and internationally.
